Creating a Materpiece

No day is ordinary because one has to be alive to experience it. This is life’s gift to us and once this is known, each day can be made into the masterpiece that was the intention from the time one’s existence began.

Think of life as a giant canvas and everyday one has an opportunity to paint a new picture. The more settled the mind is, the more in touch one becomes with their creative self. Each day one can make this picture into a masterpiece, inspired by love or it can be like so many others and just be a created ordinary day of existence. But no day is truly ordinary just because one is alive. But if one wants to make their existence ordinary there is nothing wrong in this, it’s just that life isn’t lived to the fullest. It’s still beautiful in its essence, but its beauty is not known because of one’s unconsciousness. One is not the creator of life, but one creates the way the life that’s given is lived.

Although we don’t create life itself, only the Universe can do that, we are responsible for how it is lived. Our origin is not of our doing. No matter what humans do, we will never be as miraculous as our creator. This is our source, most call it God, but what matters is that you know it exist. This is the energy Jesus called Father. Although religion has different names for their Gods, to me they are all of the same Universal Energy. They are the energy of life itself. This is the all encompassing energy of love. This energy is the creator of all that is. Without it existence wouldn’t be.

When there is alignment with this energy, there is love. It is the intention of creation to love, it is why we exist. Pray to it, nurture it, practice it, become one with it. You can make it a story of who you are, but understand the story isn’t needed, it’s already who you are. To be aware of this, is to awaken to your higher self. We are not the painters of our picture, our Creative Energy is, we are but the brushes, the tools, and the base of our behavior is what is put on our canvas. Paint a picture from your heart and it will be a painting that all will aspire to see. Or you can paint a picture from the Conditioned Mind and it will probably wind up in the attic under a pile of old clothes lol.

So learn the source of creation and learn who you truly are. Without this, you will just keep searching and using things that actually keeps you from the source of Universal Love. When this happens, the necessary energy to transform the energy of love to the canvas of your life doesn’t occur. It is up to each individual to live the life they’re given from the base of Universal Love, and to make it the masterpiece that was intended, for all to be a part of.

Michael Cupo
I grew up in Newark, New Jersey, one of six children. I have been married for 25 years. I own a home, and I have two children. I have been at the same job for 28 years. I am the happiest I have ever been and it is all because of the Love that has always been in my life. I attribute all that has happened to me to that Love. None of what has transpired in the last five years of my life has anything to do with any accomplishments on my part. There was always a lot of love in our home as I grew up, but for reasons unknown to me at the time I was always in trouble. I was at the top of my brother-in-law’s “Who My Sister Shouldn’t Marry” list. I drank alcoholically, gambled, abused drugs and painkillers. I bounced from relationship to relationship. Even after I stopped abusing alcohol and drugs in 1987, my so-called outer troubles stopped, but my self-centered behavior never changed. All I did was substitute one compulsion for another. Although my addiction became more respectable—taking the form of material possessions—I was still trapped, migrating restlessly from one obsession to another. I went to Twelve Step meetings, derived some benefit from them, and then fell away. My loved ones got me into de-tox and rehab programs. But once I was released, the cycle of insatiable craving started all over again. This cycle seemed to work for me . . . until it didn’t. And then my life changed — not instantly or magically, but profoundly. I share this change in It’s Monday Only in Your Mind: You Are Not Your Thoughts. I discovered that I wasn’t dependent upon a substance or activity, but ruled by my ego. My need to reach outside myself for fulfillment was created by a false perception of deficiency. If this sense of lack didn’t exist in me, there wouldn’t have been a need to reach and grasp. My credentials for writing this book are simply that I live this change each day. My view of life is so different from the way it used to be. Through the practice outlined in my book, I have learned to quiet my mind enough to allow my heart to open. The quieter my mind becomes, the more Love becomes the default setting of my life. This is truly a modern-day miracle, a miracle that can happen to anyone who has the urge to change.
